Ngong Ping 360

Planning for a trip to one of the outlying islands in Hong Kong? Why not explore Lantau Island through Ngong Ping 360? The 5.7km journey connects Tung Chung and Ngong Ping area, the home to the Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery. Throughout the 25-minute cable car ride, passengers will enjoy panoramic views over the South China Sea, North Lantau Country Park, Hong Kong International Airport, Ngong Ping Plateau and also the Big Buddha.

You may even ride the Crystal Cabin, which is equipped with a glass bottom, to soar across the boundless sea and terrains. The amazing feeling of having untamed natural features underneath your feet definitely worth a try.

Stepping out of the cable car terminal, a culturally themed Ngong Ping Village is awaiting for you. You may follow the enlightening life of Buddha at the multimedia attraction Walking with Buddha, and make a wish at the Bodhi Wishing Shrine. Shopping and dining venues are also available in the village.

Not far away from the Ngong Ping Village, the 34m tall Big Buddha is sitting solemnly on the mountain. Climb up 268 steps to have a closer look of the majestic bronze Statue, and be refreshed spiritually. After visiting the adjacent Po Lin Monastery and Wisdom Path, you may then return to Tung Chung while witnessing the beauty of sunset from cable car.

How to get there from Central

Take the MTR Tung Chung Line to Tung Chung Station. Walk for approximately five minutes from Exit B to the Tung Chung Cable Car Terminal.
