HK Recycles is a newly born social enterprise which provides home recycling service. It was founded by three young people with hopes and ambitions in the environment and the society of Hong Kong.
They partner with local businesses to ensure everything you recycle actually gets recycled but not sends to the landfill. HK Recycles also works with local charities to hire people from marginalized backgrounds and providing sustainable employment opportunities. They hopes to equip and empower marginalized people to overcome the tough personal condition and give confidence, resources to participate again in the society. In additional to this, they have pledges to donate 15% of all recycling revenue to local charities.
By the end of 2013, they target to recycle 1 million lbs of waste which will help 30-50 people from marginalized backgrounds.
In the time you put your glass or paper into the bags, you are also creating jobs, supporting the community and providing peoples a second chance in their life.
