There is a love tale behind the ivy’s language of flower.

“Once upon a time, Ivy and John is a sweet and blessed lovers. John decided to marry Ivy after this year’s vintage. He was hardworking everyday in the vineyard. And Ivy sang songs to him to cheer up. The voice of Ivy is sweet and attractive. Whenever she sings, birds will stop and listen to her song.

One day, the king rode on a horse to hunt. He passed the vineyard and heard the song of Ivy. He was deeply attracted by her song. The king tracked the song and found Ivy. The King said ‘This is the most beautiful girl I ever met’. He immediately decided to take Ivy as her bride and ordered to guards to do so. To prevent John’s revenge, he caught John and brought to the castle together with Ivy.

The King locked Ivy in the West Tower and John in the East Tower. Although Ivy rejected to be the queen, the order is not deniable. The king ordered, John will be hanged on the same day of wedding.

Ivy heard this news and cried. She was so upset and afraid of death of John. She started to sing like she was in the next morning. “I won’t leave you even I die”. Ivy’s song is soft but to John, this is as loud as thunder.

At the midnight, Ivy jumped out from the window to commit suicide for frustrated love. The goddess was touch by the story and opened her arm to take them. Ivy was grown on two towers and mounted all around the walls and winded together.”
